Research on Thermodynamic Properties of Bioleaching Solution in Lean Nickel-Cobalt Ore by Pitzer - Meissner Model. Authors: Chu Yue Hou, Gui Ying Zhou, Jian Kang Wen, Biao Wu Abstract: In this paper, we jointly use the Pitzer model and the Meissner model to study thermodynamic laws of bioleaching solution in a lean nickel-cobalt ore in the Jilin Baishan, by using the Pitzer model to calculate.
Thermodynamics is a branch of physics that deals with heat and temperature, and their relation to energy, work, radiation, and properties of matter. The behavior of these quantities is governed by the four laws of thermodynamics which convey a quantitative description using measurable macroscopic physical quantities, but may be explained in terms of microscopic constituents by statistical.
The paper introduces a novel numerical method, the so-called “spline-fit” and shows its utility in the handling of thermodynamic data. Illustrations are provided for the case of equilibrium dissociated and ionized air, where differentiated state properties (such as specific heats and the sound velocity) are computed. An evaluation of procedures for second derivatives is also presented.

The thermodynamic analysis shown that oxygen content in master alloy is very low, so other alloy elements content which are balance to oxygen are relatively high. In the amorphous master alloy, deoxidizing capacity of silicon is stronger than boron, and with process of decrease of the temperature, oxygen content decrease. The silicon in the master alloy can also take off the oxygen content.
